What is M.A.L.M.A.C.?

M.A.L.M.A.C. is an organization dedicated to helping educate Maine families about the
prevention of missing children whether they become lost, are abducted or run away. We also provide help in the case that a child IS missing by providing "Missing" flyers, a pager, and KidCare ID kits free of charge.

How We Got Started

M.A.L.M.A.C. was founded in November of 1992 by Pam and Bill Wright and Vicky and Gerry McLean. The Wrights lost their son Billy in October 1991. When their son was missing they encountered many roadblocks in their search for him. Vicky and Gerry McLean
are the parents of two parentally abducted children who had been missing for about 6 years. The McLean children have since been found and reunited with their family! The inability of some law enforcement agencies to work together in both cases prompted this nonprofit organization registered in the state of Maine, consisting of all volunteers.
