Missing And Lost Maine  Associated Children

Our Big Project

At this time our major project is KIDCARE PHOTO ID KITS. Project KidCare has been jointly developed by the Polaroid Corporation and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Since 1994 we have taken photos of more than 8000 children.

These sessions are usually done in conjunction with a child safety day, bike rodeo or community fair. Parents are given the kit and the picture for safekeeping.  We also try to work with local law
enforcement agencies so that the parents are also provided with a set of their child's fingerprints.

Funding

The KidCare ID kits cost us approximately $1.70 per kit. We do not charge parents for this service,
but usually have a donation can at the sessions. Our income is derived solely through fundraising,
donations and grants. We have received much support from organizations such as the Maine State Elks, Brunswick Lodge of Elks, Emblem Clubs and especially from the American Legion Units throughout the state of Maine. We have also had major support from Smith-Tobey Post 21 in Bath and Squadron 21 in Bath. They have appointed a member to attend our meetings and assist us in any way possible. MALMAC is endorsed by the Maine Sheriff's Association.
